Michigan Fine Artist

Kelly Lynne Figueiredo is a Michigan fine artist whose nature-inspired work explores memory, intuition, quiet strength and the forms of power we carry within us. Working primarily in acrylic and acrylic wash, she combines close observation with an intuitive, painterly approach that invites viewers to encounter familiar animals with renewed attention.

Following a nearly 29-year career in local government, Figueiredo committed herself to developing a sustained studio practice. Her work is largely self-directed, supported by foundational drawing and painting studies through East Lansing Parks and Recreation with artist Sharon Griffes Tarr.

Her five-painting installation, The Matriarch, has been selected for ArtPrize 2026 and will be exhibited at Grand Rapids City Hall. Through animals whose social structures challenge familiar assumptions, the series examines authority, wisdom, protection, connection and power that exists before it is recognized by others.
